Believe it or not, Gotham is green. Environmentalism is no longer only about saving rainforest or polar bears. A new generation of entrepreneurs, artists, and community leaders recognizes that the environmental fight must be fought on your own block, and that the potential ramifications are global, as is their vision. This new generation of activists is showing once-again that NYC is in the avant-garde, even when it comes to protecting the environment and curbing global warming.

Atom is a sustainable designer whose latest poject is the Fort Green Habana Outpost. Habana Outpost serves home-style Latin food while taking important steps to promote sustainability for our natural and social environments, such as using reclaimed and recycled materials, the integration of some local organics, and the ongoing efforts to provide an eco-educational experience
